The aging situation in China is grim, and long-term care (LTC) for the elderly has become an important public health concern. Through retrospective analyses, the authors sort the current problems of LTC for the elderly in China from the aspects of care demand, care system, care model, and care manpower, and put forward prospects, so as to clarify the opportunities for the development of elderly LTC and provide references for the development of geriatric nursing.
