aritime personnel. Currently, there is a lack of standardized diagnostic criteria and guidelines for the prevention and control of SMS both domestically and internationally. To improve the standardization of diagnosis and scientific prevention and control of SMS, the Expert Writing Group organized multidisciplinary experts to formulate the Chinese expert consensus on diagnosis, prevention and control of sea motion sickness, initiated by the Chinese Society of Nautical Medicine of Chinese Medical Association. Based on domestic and international evidence-based medical evidence and clinical practice experience, the Expert Writing Group conducted 4 rounds of systematic argumentation and 2 rounds of correspondence review on the concept, epidemiology, etiology and predisposing factors, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, laboratory and other auxiliary examinations, diagnosis, susceptibility prediction, and prevention and control measures of SMS. Ultimately, the consensus is reached and covers 12 statements, aiming to standardize clinical diagnosis and improve comprehensive prevention and control of SMS.
